The highest-value CA functions — audit judgment, tax strategy, M&A advisory, regulatory interpretation, and board-level financial communication — are highly resistant to automation. Basic accounting tasks will be increasingly automated, but this elevates rather than threatens senior CA roles by shifting focus to judgment-intensive advisory work.
