A Conflict Mediator's day involves facilitating structured discussions between disputing parties, helping them identify common ground, explore solutions, and reach mutually acceptable agreements. This includes preparing for sessions, conducting mediations, documenting outcomes, and sometimes providing post-mediation support or follow-up.
- Conduct intake interviews with disputing parties to understand their perspectives
- Prepare mediation agreements and outlines for discussion topics
- Facilitate neutral and confidential mediation sessions
- Guide parties through communication techniques and active listening
- Help parties identify underlying interests and explore potential solutions
- Draft settlement agreements and ensure clarity and enforceability
