A Costume & Make-up Artist (Dance) spends their day designing and creating traditional and contemporary costumes for dance performances, applying stage makeup, and ensuring performers look their best under stage lights. This involves sketching, fabric selection, sewing, fitting, and on-site application and touch-ups during rehearsals and shows.
- Meeting with choreographers and directors to understand costume and make-up requirements for performances.
- Researching traditional dance costumes and cultural aesthetics.
- Sketching costume designs and selecting appropriate fabrics and embellishments.
