About This Role

Preparing candidates for international English proficiency exams for migration or study.

A Day in the Life

You prepare students for IELTS and PTE Academic examinations, coaching all four skills — listening, reading, writing, and speaking — with exam-specific strategies to achieve their target band scores for migration, study, or professional registration.

Conduct diagnostic assessments to gauge students' current IELTS or PTE proficiency
Deliver targeted coaching for listening, reading, writing (task 1 & 2), and speaking components
Teach exam-specific strategies — question-type recognition, time management, band score optimisation
Administer practice tests under timed exam conditions and debrief results
Provide detailed written feedback on Task 1 (graphs/charts) and Task 2 (essays)
Coach speaking fluency, coherence, lexical resource, and pronunciation for IELTS Speaking Part 2 & 3
Update knowledge of IELTS/PTE format changes and official marking criteria
Create or source practice materials including mock tests, vocabulary lists, and model answers

IELTS and PTE preparation is a high-demand, commercially active sector in Sri Lanka driven by migration aspirations to Australia, UK, Canada, and New Zealand, as well as overseas nursing and professional registration requirements.
