A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) diagnoses and treats communication and swallowing disorders. Their day involves conducting assessments, developing individualized therapy plans, providing direct therapy, educating families, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide direct therapy to clients of all ages in individual or group settings.
- Educate and counsel families/caregivers on communication strategies and home practice.
- Collaborate with doctors, audiologists, occupational therapists, and educators.
