A Turfgrass Manager's day is spent outdoors, meticulously caring for specialized grass surfaces. This involves planning and executing irrigation schedules, fertilization, pest control, mowing, and aeration, often operating specialized machinery and supervising a team.
- Develop and implement comprehensive turf management plans for golf courses, sports fields, or resorts.
- Oversee irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water usage and grass health.
- Manage fertilization, pest control, and disease prevention programs.
- Supervise and train a team of groundskeepers, assigning tasks and ensuring quality work.
- Operate and maintain specialized turf equipment, such as mowers, aerators, and sprayers.
