About This Role

A Day in the Life
Assesses, measures, and controls sound and vibration in buildings, industrial facilities, and the environment — advising on noise management, building acoustics, and regulatory compliance for Sri Lankan construction and industrial projects.
- Conduct site noise level measurements using calibrated sound level meters and data loggers
- Prepare Environmental Noise Impact Assessments (NIAs) for development projects requiring CEA approval
- Design acoustic treatment specifications — sound insulation, absorption panels, noise barriers
- Model room acoustics for auditoriums, recording studios, and performance halls using acoustic software
- Assess industrial noise exposure against occupational health limits (OSHA, SL Factory Ordinance)
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for architects, engineers, and regulators
- Present acoustic findings at CEA environmental review meetings and client design reviews
