A Quality Control (QC) Chemist spends their day analyzing samples from various stages of production to ensure products meet specified chemical standards and safety regulations. This involves performing a range of analytical tests, calibrating instruments, interpreting data, and documenting findings.
- Perform chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as spectrophotometers, pH meters, and titrators.
- Prepare chemical reagents and solutions accurately.
- Analyze test data, identify deviations, and report findings.
- Calibrate and validate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Document all testing procedures, results, and observations meticulously.
- Investigate out-of-specification results and assist in root cause analysis.
