About This Role

Uses fluid dynamics and tensor calculus to model the flight and structural integrity of aircraft and rockets.

A Day in the Life

Aerospace Systems Modelers create and validate high-fidelity computational models of aerospace vehicles and their environments, supporting design decisions, performance predictions, and certification processes.

  • Build multi-domain simulation models of aircraft, spacecraft, or UAV systems
  • Develop aerodynamic and structural models using finite element and CFD tools
  • Validate simulation outputs against test data and refine model parameters
  • Generate performance envelopes, trade studies, and sensitivity analyses
  • Integrate subsystem models (propulsion, avionics, structures) into system-level simulations
  • Automate simulation workflows using Python or MATLAB scripting
  • Document modelling assumptions, validation results, and model limitations
  • Collaborate with test teams to plan and interpret validation campaigns
