A Day in the Life
Applies advanced statistical and mathematical methods to chemical data — developing multivariate calibration models, pattern recognition algorithms, and data analysis pipelines that extract maximum information from complex analytical datasets.
- Build multivariate calibration models (PLS, PCR) for NIR and Raman spectral data
- Apply principal component analysis (PCA) and clustering to identify patterns in chemical datasets
- Develop and validate chemometric models for process analytical technology (PAT) applications
- Process hyperspectral imaging data for spatial chemical mapping
- Perform outlier detection and quality control on high-dimensional analytical data
- Translate chemometric model outputs into actionable process or quality decisions
- Publish or report chemometric methodology and validation results
Work Environment
Research institutes, pharmaceutical companies with PAT programmes, and food industry R&D departments.
