They often spend time both in the field and in the lab.
- Conduct field surveys to collect water, sediment, and biological samples from rivers, lakes, and coastal areas.
- Identify and classify aquatic organisms (fish, invertebrates, plants, algae).
- Measure physical and chemical parameters of water bodies (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, nutrient levels).
- Analyze data on species distribution, population dynamics, and ecosystem health.
