- Design and conduct bioassays to test toxicity of water samples and chemical compounds on aquatic organisms
- Collect water, sediment, and tissue samples from rivers, lagoons, and coastal waters
- Analyse heavy metals, pesticides, and industrial pollutants using chromatography and spectrometry
- Prepare toxicological reports for regulatory submissions and environmental impact assessments
- Advise industrial clients and government on safe discharge limits and remediation strategies
- Maintain laboratory animals (fish, invertebrates) for controlled exposure experiments
- Review scientific literature and keep up with emerging contaminants of concern
- Participate in environmental monitoring programs and multi-agency field investigations
