A Day in the Life
Compound, prepare, quality control, and dispense traditional Ayurvedic herbal preparations at government Ayurvedic hospitals, Siddhalepa-type manufacturing companies, or private Ayurvedic pharmacies in Sri Lanka.
- Prepare traditional herbal formulations (decoctions, pills, powders, medicated oils)
- Quality control herbal raw materials against SL Ayurvedic pharmacopeia standards
- Dispense prescribed Ayurvedic medicines to patients
- Maintain Ayurvedic pharmacy records and drug logs
- Collect, identify, and store medicinal herbs (Dravyaguna knowledge)
- Coordinate herbal procurement from approved suppliers
- Ensure compliance with Ayurvedic Drug Regulatory Authority (ADRA) standards
- Train pharmacy assistants in preparation techniques
Work Environment
Government Ayurvedic hospital pharmacy, Ayurvedic manufacturing company (Siddhalepa, Samahan), or private Ayurvedic pharmacy. Combines traditional herbal knowledge with pharmaceutical compounding practice.
