A Day in the Life
A BIM Manager leads the strategic implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within an organization or for large projects. They develop BIM protocols, manage BIM teams, and ensure effective integration of BIM across all project phases to maximize efficiency and collaboration.
- Develop and implement BIM execution plans, standards, and protocols for projects.
- Manage and mentor a team of BIM Coordinators and Modelers.
- Oversee the integration of BIM workflows across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Ensure quality control and data integrity of all BIM models.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and external consultants on BIM-related matters.
- Evaluate and recommend new BIM software, technologies, and training programs.
- Report on BIM performance, progress, and value to senior management.
Work Environment
Primarily an office-based role, often in a leadership position within an architectural, engineering, or construction firm. Involves strategic planning, team management, and frequent meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
