Bio-Geochemical Modeler

Bio-Geochemical Modelers in Sri Lanka develop computational models of how chemical elements cycle through ecosystems, soils, and water bodies, supporting research in climate change, agriculture, and environmental management.

• Build and calibrate mathematical models of nutrient cycling (carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus) in ecosystems
• Integrate field data, remote sensing datasets, and lab measurements into model inputs
• Run simulation experiments to project ecosystem responses to climate or land-use change
• Validate model outputs against real-world geochemical measurements
• Collaborate with field ecologists, soil scientists, and atmospheric researchers
• Prepare technical reports and peer-reviewed publications on modelling results
• Attend conferences and workshops to share findings and refine approaches
• Write grant proposals and technical documentation for research funding applications
