Bio-Instrumentation Technicians in Sri Lanka install, calibrate, maintain, and repair scientific instruments used in biological and medical laboratories, ensuring equipment operates within specification for accurate research and diagnostic results.
- Install and commission new laboratory instruments including microscopes, spectrometers, and PCR machines
- Perform preventive maintenance schedules on biological and analytical instruments
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with vendors for spare parts
- Calibrate instruments against certified reference standards
- Train laboratory users on safe and correct instrument operation
- Maintain maintenance logs, calibration certificates, and service records
- Ensure instruments comply with ISO 17025 and GLP requirements
- Assist researchers with instrument setup for specific experimental protocols
