- Design medical devices and diagnostic equipment based on physics principles (optics, radiation, acoustics)
- Calibrate and validate medical imaging systems (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound equipment)
- Conduct radiation safety assessments and quality assurance testing for radiology departments
- Develop custom biosensors and measurement systems for clinical applications
- Collaborate with clinicians to understand device requirements and test prototypes
- Prepare technical specifications, regulatory documentation, and safety reports
- Troubleshoot medical equipment failures and liaise with manufacturers
- Conduct research on novel measurement techniques and medical device improvements
