A Day in the Life

Bio-Production Engineers manage and optimise biological manufacturing at commercial scale, overseeing fermentation, cell culture, or bioreactor operations to ensure consistent product quality, output, and GMP compliance.

  • Manage daily bioreactor production operations and respond to process deviations
  • Review batch records and ensure GMP documentation is complete and accurate
  • Train production operators on bioprocess procedures and safety protocols
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance with engineering teams
  • Analyse production data to identify yield trends and process improvement opportunities
  • Lead investigations into out-of-specification events and implement CAPAs
  • Support qualification and validation of new equipment or process changes
  • Liaise with QA, supply chain, and regulatory teams on production-related issues
