A Day in the Life

A Clinical Microbiologist spends their day identifying bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites from patient samples. They perform diagnostic tests, interpret results, and advise clinicians on appropriate antimicrobial treatments, playing a critical role in managing infectious diseases and preventing outbreaks.

  • Receive and process patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, CSF) for microbiological analysis.
