A Day in the Life
A Crop Protection Specialist spends their day identifying and analyzing threats to crops, such as pests, diseases, and weeds. They develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, advise farmers on safe and effective solutions, and monitor the efficacy of treatments to protect agricultural yields.
- Conduct field inspections to detect pests, diseases, and weeds
- Collect samples for laboratory analysis and identification
- Diagnose specific crop protection issues and assess damage levels
- Develop and recommend integrated pest management (IPM) plans
