- Design and conduct laboratory experiments to study microbial communities in environmental samples (soil, water, waste)
- Isolate, identify, and characterize microorganisms for specific bioremediation applications
- Analyze microbial genetic material using molecular techniques (e.g., PCR, sequencing)
- Develop and optimize microbial cultures for waste treatment or pollutant degradation
- Monitor the effectiveness of bioremediation strategies in lab or pilot-scale settings
