A Day in the Life
A Food Processing Technologist applies scientific principles to optimize food preservation, processing, and packaging, ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency. This role often involves hands-on work in a lab or plant, focusing on the practical application of food science and technology.
- Monitor and control food processing operations to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Conduct laboratory tests on raw materials and finished products for quality assurance.
- Optimize processing parameters (e.g., temperature, time, pressure) for various food products.
- Assist in the development and scaling up of new food products and processes.
- Troubleshoot processing issues and implement corrective actions.
