A Day in the Life
A Hydroponics & Aeroponics Lead spends their day monitoring growth systems, preparing nutrient solutions, managing environmental controls, and troubleshooting any issues to ensure optimal plant health and yield in soil-less farming setups.
- Monitor nutrient solution levels, pH, and electrical conductivity (EC) in hydroponic/aeroponic systems.
- Prepare and mix nutrient solutions according to specific crop requirements and growth stages.
- Inspect plants daily for signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Adjust environmental controls such as temperature, humidity, light cycles, and CO2 levels.
- Maintain and clean system components, including pumps, pipes, and reservoirs.
- Propagate new plants and transplant seedlings into the systems.
