Their day involves strategic planning, managing teams, optimizing feeding and breeding schedules, ensuring animal health, and analyzing production data.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet output targets for milk, meat, or eggs.
- Manage and optimize feeding, breeding, and health programs for large animal populations.
- Supervise a team of farm workers, providing training and performance feedback.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as feed conversion ratio, growth rates, and mortality.
- Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity protocols and animal welfare standards.
- Manage inventory of feed, veterinary supplies, and equipment.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and sales teams.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural and environmental regulations.
Work Environment
