A Mechatronics Design Engineer spends their day conceptualizing, designing, and simulating integrated mechanical and electronic systems. This involves extensive use of CAD software, finite element analysis, and control system design to create prototypes for robotics, automation, or smart devices.
- Develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Perform simulations and analyses (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate designs and predict performance.
- Integrate mechanical components with electronic circuits, sensors, and actuators.
- Design control systems and write embedded software for mechatronic prototypes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electronics, software, manufacturing) on project requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and present technical specifications to stakeholders.
