A Medical Instrumentation Specialist manages and calibrates complex physical-chemical sensors and diagnostic tools used in healthcare. Their day involves ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and safety of equipment ranging from blood gas analyzers to patient monitors, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and training clinical staff.
- Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and repair of medical diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in complex physical-chemical sensors and instrumentation.
- Install and configure new medical devices, ensuring proper integration with hospital systems.
- Conduct electrical safety checks and performance verification tests on equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and calibration activities.
- Provide technical training and support to doctors, nurses, and other clinical staff on equipment operation.
