An Outgrower Operations Coordinator spends their day bridging the gap between a company and its network of smallholder farmers. This involves regular field visits to provide technical advice, monitor crop progress, ensure quality standards, manage logistics for input supply and produce collection, and maintain strong relationships with farmers.
- Conduct regular field visits to outgrower farms to monitor crop health and progress.
- Provide technical agricultural advice and training to farmers on best practices.
- Ensure farmers adhere to quality standards and sustainable farming methods.
- Coordinate the timely supply of agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizer, pesticides) to farmers.
- Manage logistics for the collection and transport of harvested produce from farms.
- Maintain accurate records of farmer performance, yields, and payments.
- Resolve issues and conflicts that arise between the company and outgrowers.
- Recruit and onboard new outgrowers into the program.
- Prepare reports on outgrower performance and operational challenges.
Work Environment
Primarily works outdoors, traveling frequently to various farms in rural areas. Involves direct interaction with farmers and exposure to agricultural environments, including varying weather conditions. Requires a mix of office work for reporting and extensive fieldwork.
