Their day involves monitoring flock health, managing feed and nutrition, overseeing environmental controls, implementing biosecurity measures, and analyzing production data to maximize efficiency and output.
- Monitor the health and welfare of poultry flocks (chickens, ducks, etc.)
- Manage feeding programs and ensure optimal nutrition for different growth stages
- Oversee environmental controls in poultry houses (temperature, ventilation, lighting)
- Implement and enforce strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks
- Analyze production data (e.g., feed conversion ratio, egg production, mortality rates)
- Develop and optimize breeding, hatching, and rearing schedules and processes
- Supervise and train farm staff on best practices in poultry management
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and food safety standards
