A Day in the Life
A Quality Assurance Manager in the Polymer sector ensures the chemical purity and physical durability of polymer-based materials and products. This involves developing and implementing quality control plans, overseeing material testing, managing process controls in manufacturing, leading a QA team, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. The day includes factory floor oversight, lab data review, documentation, and problem-solving.
- Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) specific to polymer manufacturing
- Oversee raw material inspection and finished product testing for polymer properties
- Manage in-process quality control to ensure consistency in polymer production
- Lead investigations into material defects, product failures, and customer complaints
- Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for quality issues
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) and customer specifications
- Manage and mentor a team of QA/QC engineers and technicians
- Collaborate with R&D and production on new product development and process improvements
Work Environment
