A Day in the Life
A Quality Assurance professional in Pharmaceuticals ensures that all stages of drug manufacturing, from raw materials to finished products, comply with strict biochemical standards, regulatory guidelines (like cGMP), and safety protocols. This involves documentation review, process monitoring, and audit participation.
- Review and approve batch production records, analytical data, and other quality documentation
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Conduct in-process and final product inspections to verify quality attributes
- Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results
- Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., regulatory inspections)
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Assist in the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide quality training to production and laboratory personnel
Work Environment
Works primarily in an office within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, often interacting with production floors and laboratories. The environment is highly regulated, requiring strict adherence to protocols and a strong focus on detail and compliance.
