A Day in the Life
A QA Lead typically starts by reviewing daily quality control reports and addressing any non-conformances. The day involves planning and overseeing quality audits, developing and refining quality assurance protocols, and collaborating with production and R&D teams to implement corrective actions. Significant time is spent on documentation, training junior staff, and preparing for regulatory inspections.
- Review daily quality control data and production reports
- Lead internal and external quality audits and inspections
- Develop, update, and implement Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
- Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams on new product quality standards
- Provide training and guidance to QA team members and other departments
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive quality documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with local and international quality standards and regulations
Work Environment
Works primarily in an office setting within a manufacturing or research facility, with frequent visits to production lines or laboratories. The environment is structured, process-driven, and requires adherence to strict safety and quality protocols.
