A Day in the Life
QA Officers ensure product and process quality across manufacturing, food, pharma, or tech — conducting inspections, reviewing quality documentation, investigating non-conformances, and coordinating corrective actions to maintain compliance and standards.
- Conduct product inspections and quality checks on production lines
- Review and update quality management system (QMS) documentation
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance reports
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Conduct internal audits against ISO 9001 or other standards
- Train production staff on quality procedures
- Liaise with suppliers for incoming goods inspections
Work Environment
Manufacturing plant, food factory, pharmaceutical facility, or IT company QA department. Mix of production floor and office work. Process-focused and documentation-heavy.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
Generally structured hours. Audit periods and production incidents can increase workload. Food and pharma may involve shift overlap.
