A Day in the Life
A Quality Assurance Scientist (Analytical) spends their day performing chemical and physical tests on product samples, calibrating instruments, analyzing data to ensure product consistency, and documenting findings. They work to uphold stringent quality standards in manufacturing.
- Perform routine chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments suchates as HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers, and titrators.
- Analyze test data using statistical methods to identify trends and deviations.
- Calibrate and validate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Document all testing procedures, results, and observations accurately.
- Investigate out-of-specification results and participate in root cause analysis.
- Develop and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for analytical methods.
- Collaborate with production and R&D teams to resolve quality issues.
Work Environment
Works primarily in a laboratory setting, which can be sterile and controlled, involving exposure to chemicals and specialized equipment. Requires adherence to strict safety protocols.
