A Day in the Life
A Quality Control Statistician in Pharma applies statistical methods to ensure the chemical consistency, purity, and safety of pharmaceutical products. This involves rigorous data analysis, process validation, and strict adherence to regulatory standards like GMP.
- Design and analyze experiments for drug product and process development
- Implement and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) for pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Perform statistical analysis on analytical data (e.g., assay, dissolution, impurity profiles)
- Develop and validate statistical models for stability studies and shelf-life determination
- Prepare statistical sections for regulatory submissions (e.g., NDA, ANDA)
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs teams
- Conduct root cause analysis for out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results
- Ensure compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and ICH guidelines
Work Environment
