A Quality Engineering Specialist applies Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other quality engineering principles to electronic manufacturing. Their day involves analyzing production data, identifying process variations, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring products meet stringent global quality standards.
- Implement and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems for electronic assembly lines
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement
- Develop and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize electronic manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly)
- Conduct process capability studies (Cp, Cpk) and measurement system analysis (MSA)
- Lead problem-solving initiatives using methodologies like 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma
- Ensure compliance with international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949 for automotive electronics)
- Prepare detailed quality reports and present findings to cross-functional teams and management
Work Environment
Works in a hybrid environment, splitting time between an office for data analysis and report generation, and the manufacturing floor (cleanroom or assembly area) for process observation, troubleshooting, and implementation of quality improvements. Requires attention to detail in a precise manufacturing setting.
