A Day in the Life
A Sustainability & Certification Lead ensures agricultural operations meet international environmental and social standards. This involves regular audits, documentation, staff training, and continuous improvement to maintain certifications like Rainforest Alliance or Fairtrade, which are crucial for market access and brand reputation.
- Conduct internal audits against certification standards (e.g., Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, Organic).
- Prepare and manage documentation for external certification audits.
- Train plantation staff on sustainable practices and certification requirements.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for audit non-conformities.
- Liaise with certification bodies and external auditors.
