A Day in the Life
A Sustainability & Circularity Specialist designs and implements strategies to minimize waste and maximize resource utilization within an organization or supply chain. They focus on creating 'waste-to-resource' systems, promoting product longevity, and establishing circular economy models to reduce environmental impact and enhance resource efficiency.
- Conduct waste audits and material flow analyses to identify circularity opportunities.
- Design and implement waste reduction and recycling programs.
- Develop strategies for product life extension, repair, and reuse.
- Research and evaluate circular business models and technologies.
- Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
- Assess the environmental impact of materials and processes (e.g., LCA).
- Prepare reports on circularity performance and recommend improvements.
- Stay updated on circular economy principles, policies, and best practices.
Work Environment
Primarily an office-based role, involving extensive research, data analysis, and strategic planning. May involve site visits to manufacturing facilities, recycling centers, or supply chain partners to assess operations and implement solutions.
