A Sustainability & ESG Manager in the hotel industry focuses on integrating eco-friendly practices and corporate social responsibility into hotel operations. This involves overseeing waste reduction, energy efficiency, local sourcing, and community engagement, ensuring the hotel meets sustainability targets and enhances its brand reputation.
- Develop and implement sustainability policies and programs for hotel operations (e.g., waste, water, energy)
- Monitor and report on key environmental performance indicators (KPIs) like carbon footprint and resource consumption
- Identify and implement initiatives for energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and water conservation
- Manage waste reduction and recycling programs, including food waste management
- Oversee social responsibility initiatives, such as local community engagement, fair labor practices, and ethical sourcing
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Globe, LEED)
- Train hotel staff on sustainable practices and foster a culture of environmental awareness
