A Day in the Life
An Animal Husbandry Technician spends their day caring for livestock, poultry, or other animals in a farm or research setting. This includes feeding, cleaning, monitoring health, assisting with breeding, and maintaining records to ensure animal well-being and productivity.
- Feed and water animals according to specific schedules and dietary requirements.
- Clean and maintain animal enclosures, pens, and facilities.
- Monitor animal health, identify signs of illness or injury, and report to veterinarians.
- Assist with breeding programs, including artificial insemination and birthing.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments under supervision.
