A Day in the Life
A Business Incubator Manager runs a startup incubation programme — selecting and mentoring early-stage entrepreneurs, managing cohort activities, connecting startups with investors and resources, and building the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Screen and evaluate startup applications for incubation programme entry
- Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions with incubatee founders
- Organise workshops, bootcamps, and speaker events for startup cohorts
- Connect startups with angel investors, VCs, and strategic partners
- Track startup KPIs and progress towards milestones
- Manage incubator operations, budget, and facilities
- Report to university leadership, government bodies, or corporate sponsors
- Build networks with Sri Lankan and regional startup ecosystem players
- Support startups in fundraising, legal setup, and market entry
Work Environment
Dynamic, collaborative environment within a university, tech park, or corporate innovation hub. Blends office administration with event management, mentoring, and ecosystem building. Culture is entrepreneurial and fast-moving.
