A Day in the Life
IT Assistants provide basic administrative and technical support to IT departments — assisting senior staff with documentation, equipment management, user support, and day-to-day IT operational tasks.
- Assist with user helpdesk tickets under supervision
- Maintain IT asset registers and equipment logs
- Set up computers and peripherals for new users
- Photocopy, file, and organise IT documentation
- Assist with software licence tracking
- Support senior technicians with installations
- Manage IT storeroom and spare parts inventory
Work Environment
IT department office. Administrative and technical support role. Entry-level with supervision.
Typical hours: 40h/week · WLB score 9/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
