A Day in the Life
A Loss Prevention Officer's day involves actively monitoring retail premises to deter and detect theft, both internal and external. This includes reviewing CCTV footage, conducting floor patrols, investigating suspicious activities, and implementing security measures to minimize stock loss.
- Monitor CCTV cameras for suspicious activities, shoplifting, or internal theft.
- Conduct regular floor patrols to observe customer and employee behavior.
- Investigate incidents of theft, fraud, or policy violations.
- Apprehend individuals suspected of shoplifting and follow company protocols for reporting.
- Review sales transactions and inventory records to identify discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems.
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement when necessary.
- Educate staff on loss prevention policies and procedures.
Work Environment
