A Day in the Life

You lead complex industrial automation projects — designing control systems, supervising commissioning, mentoring junior engineers, and setting automation strategy for manufacturing or industrial clients.

  • Lead automation system design — define architecture, select components, create control philosophy
  • Review and approve PLC programs, HMI designs, and electrical schematics from junior engineers
  • Manage project commissioning and factory acceptance testing (FAT/SAT)
  • Provide technical direction to PLC programmers, panel builders, and field technicians
  • Liaise with clients on technical requirements, change requests, and project milestones
  • Perform risk assessments and safety system design (SIL/ATEX where applicable)
  • Troubleshoot complex system integration issues across PLC, SCADA, and field devices
  • Develop technical proposals and cost estimates for new automation projects
