About This Role
Plans and executes corporate events, product launches, conferences, and gala dinners. SLITHM events management diploma is a common entry path. Project management and vendor coordination skills are essential.
A Day in the Life
An Event Manager's day is a blend of meticulous planning, vendor coordination, client communication, and on-site execution. From conceptualizing themes to managing budgets and ensuring smooth operations on the day, it's a fast-paced role that requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges.
- Meeting with clients to understand event objectives, requirements, and budget
- Developing event concepts, themes, and detailed proposals
- Sourcing and negotiating with vendors (caterers, venues, AV, decorators, entertainment)
- Creating and managing event timelines, budgets, and checklists
- Coordinating logistics such as venue setup, registration, transportation, and security
- Marketing and promoting events to attract attendees (for public events)
- Overseeing on-site event execution, managing staff, and troubleshooting issues
- Conducting post-event evaluations and preparing reports for clients
Work Environment
Works from an office for planning, but spends significant time at event venues, meeting vendors, and conducting site visits. The environment is often dynamic, fast-paced, and can be high-stress, especially during event days. Requires strong interpersonal skills for client and vendor relations.
