A Day in the Life
An Event Production Manager's day is focused on the technical and logistical backbone of large events. It involves detailed planning of stage setups, power, sound, and lighting, coordinating with technical teams, ensuring safety compliance, and overseeing the entire production from concept to dismantle. It's a high-pressure role requiring extensive technical knowledge.
- Translating creative concepts into technical production plans (stage, AV, power)
- Developing detailed production schedules and managing technical budgets
- Sourcing and managing technical vendors (rigging, staging, sound, lighting, video)
- Overseeing the design, construction, and installation of stages and sets
- Coordinating power distribution, generator requirements, and electrical safety
- Ensuring all technical aspects comply with safety regulations and venue rules
- Managing on-site technical teams (AV technicians, stagehands, electricians)
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues during setup and live event
Work Environment
Works from an office for planning, but spends significant time at event venues, often in construction zones or backstage areas.
