About This Role
Sources, screens, and hires candidates for vacant positions through job boards (TopJobs.lk, XpressJobs.lk, LinkedIn), headhunting, and campus recruitment. In-house role at large corporates or within HR consulting firms (DDI Lanka, Mercer Lanka, MNL Lanka). Competency-based interview skills and ATS (Applicant Tracking System) experience required.
A Day in the Life
A Recruitment Specialist or Talent Acquisition professional is responsible for finding, attracting, and hiring the best candidates for an organization. A typical day involves sourcing candidates through various channels, screening applications, conducting interviews, managing the applicant tracking system, and collaborating with hiring managers.
- Source candidates using various platforms including job boards (TopJobs.lk, XpressJobs.lk), LinkedIn, social media, and professional networks.
- Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates based on job requirements.
- Conduct initial phone screenings and interviews to assess candidate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers and provide feedback.
- Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to track candidate progress and maintain recruitment data.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers to understand their talent needs.
- Participate in campus recruitment drives and career fairs to attract fresh talent.
- Extend job offers and manage the negotiation process, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
Work Environment
Works in a fast-paced office environment, often juggling multiple open requisitions. The role involves frequent communication via phone, email, and in-person meetings, requiring strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
