A Day in the Life
Specialise in analysing, redesigning, and automating business processes using Business Process Management (BPM) tools — helping organisations eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and automate repetitive workflows.
- Map current-state processes using BPMN 2.0 and identify inefficiency bottlenecks
- Design future-state process flows and obtain stakeholder sign-off
- Configure and test process workflows in BPM platforms (Bizagi, Camunda, Appian)
- Analyse process performance metrics — cycle time, error rate, throughput
- Facilitate process improvement workshops with cross-functional teams
- Document process specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support process automation integration with ERP and CRM systems
- Monitor post-deployment process performance and refine flows based on data
Work Environment
Collaborative project team environment. In Sri Lanka, BPM analysts are most in demand at banks (for loan origination, KYC, and payment processes), insurance companies (claims workflows), and manufacturing companies (production planning). Dialog, BOC, and Sampath Bank are among the largest BPM platform users locally.
Typical hours: 45h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
