A Day in the Life

Collect, clean, and analyse HR data to produce accurate workforce reports, metrics, and insights that support evidence-based HR and business decisions.

  • Extract workforce data from HRIS and payroll systems for regular HR reporting
  • Build and maintain monthly HR dashboards: headcount, turnover, absenteeism, diversity
  • Perform data validation and cleanup to ensure accuracy of HR metrics
  • Produce ad hoc HR data reports for senior management and audit requests
  • Analyse recruitment data: pipeline conversion rates, time-to-fill, source ROI
  • Support payroll reconciliation with HR headcount data
  • Assist workforce planners with headcount and cost modelling in Excel
  • Maintain HR data integrity protocols and HRIS system data quality

HR department or People Analytics function in a large organisation. The role is more technically focused than the HR Analyst (People Analytics) — heavier on data extraction, reporting, and quality, and lighter on advanced modelling. Common in banks, large manufacturing companies, and telcos in Sri Lanka.
